If home buying was as easy as ordering a carryout pizza, then I wouldn’t be writing this article. BUT buying a home is nothing like ordering pizza!  In fact the  is lengthy and can be confusing to anyone who has minimal experience.  So far the year 2015 has been the year of the first time home buyer, which has helped recover many local markets.  Unfortunately, though first time home buyers can bring a lot of inexperience to the table. In order to battle these mistakes we’ve created a short list of the most common first time home buyer mistakes.

1. They don’t ask enough questions of their lender and end up missing out on the best deal.

2. They don’t act quickly enough to make a decision and someone else buys the house.

3. They don’t find the right agent who’s willing to help them through the home buying process.

4. They don’t do enough to make their offer look appealing to a seller.

5. They don’t think about resale before they buy. The average first-time buyer only stays in a home for four years.

Lets recap…You can NEVER ask too many questions when purchasing a home, don’t wait on making an offer, use family & friends to find referrals for good agents, having an experienced agent will help you make an appealing offer, and again make sure you have an experience agent who can help you find the right property based on your needs.
