Are you an animal lover? If so, you probably have one or more of those four-legged furry friends running around your home. Pets are great companions for all ages, but just like a child, they require a lot of attention and cleanup. Having animals inside your home means you have animal hair in every room that your pet resides. Depending on if family members, friends or possible guests have allergies it is even more important that you keep your home clean and comfortable for your loved ones.
How to clean a house with pets:
- Kitchen
- Living Room
- Bedrooms
Kitchen
The place where we gather to prepare food, eat dinner, wash dishes, and spend most of our time can be the dirtiest place in the whole house. If you have pets it is even more important that you take the extra time to clean your kitchen on a daily basis. Leftover food with pets in the house can bring in flies and rodents. Be sure to wipe down your countertops daily, put the dishes in the dishwasher right after use, sweep the kitchen floor frequently.
Living Room
A home with pets means a home with pet hair. It is important that you find a vacuum cleaner that was designed to remove pet hair from furniture and carpet. Pet vacuum’s are better suited for the pet hair that will build up in the vacuum and they will also come with the right attachments to use on your furniture. Vacuuming your home daily is the best way to keep the pet hair from building up on your furniture. Also, using a steam cleaner once or twice a week will keep your home in tip-top shape.
Bedrooms
If you allow your pets to sleep in the same bed as you, it is recommended that you wash your bedding once a week. Don’t forget to vacuum the carpet in your bedrooms frequently to clean up the pet hair. You will also want to make sure that you do not leave anything on the floor that you do not want your pet(s) to get ahold of. Washing down any surfaces with wet wipes or soap and a sponge is also recommended for sanitation reasons.
Along with keeping all of your rooms in the house clean, you don’t want to forget to bathe and brush your pets to help aid in the cleanliness of the home.
