With summer comes warm temperatures, cookouts with family and friends, pool parties, and a little relaxation. But, with all of that fun, we don’t want you to forget to complete some important tasks this summer. When you own a home, you understand that there is always something that needs to be done. That is why we want to cover some of the home improvement tasks that you should complete this summer.

4 home improvement tasks to complete this summer:

  1. Clean those gutters
  2. Spray down your siding
  3. Check on your roof
  4. Inspect for pests

Clean those gutters

When was the last time you went to check up on your gutters? If you can’t even remember the time, they probably need serious cleaning. You may think that the summer months don’t see fallen leaves like the Fall but you are wrong. Debris, no matter the kind, can find their way into your gutters and clog them up. If you are tired of cleaning gutters out, you can also look into other alternatives that don’t require upkeep.

Spray down your siding

No one wants to drive by your home and see that dirty siding. Dirty siding hurts your curb appeal and makes it appear that you do not take care of your home. Dirt, grass, mold, and other outside particles can really cause buildup and lessen the life of your siding. You will want to make sure you clean it on a regular basis to prevent serious buildup from happening.

Check on your roof

When was the last time you went to look at the shingles on your roof? Summer rain and winds can really mess up your roof. Guess what? That rain will eventually end up in your house if you don’t take the proper steps in preventing it from happening. You will want to ensure that your shingles are properly secured in order to stop any rain from entering your home. If you don’t feel comfortable performing this task, be sure to call your local roofing company for an estimate.

Inspect for pests

Any small cracks or holes in your home allow pests to make their way through. Some of these pets can post a serious threat to your home’s well-being. You can always call pest control and set up a regular schedule spraying to the inside and outside of your home to prevent creepy crawlies from ever entering your home.
